"Save Darfur" rally on the mall (Video)

[bill post]
Thousands of protesters gathered on the Washington DC mall sunday urging President Bush to take stronger measures against the genocide currently taking place in the Sudan's Darfur region.
Among the featured speakers were Dick Gregory, George Clooney and the irrepressible Reverend Al Sharpton.

Friend Margaret and I took separate subways and with the help of our cell phones managed to locate one another for the nearly 3 hour rally. (oh my achy feet!) Patti decided to sit this one out and stayed home. (well, she did do her 3 mile walk around the neighborhood while rockin' out with cd player & headphones.)
I of course took photos and footage which I enjoy doing and then put this video together last night.

On another note, and just to let everyone know.. our yearly trek back to farm is planned to begin this coming monday. We shall hop aboard ole "Ruby" (doesn't eveyone anthropomorphize their cars?) and head west for the western Iowa countryside.

Farm life is quite a change from the city world here in Washington. No rush hour traffic nor fire/ambulance/police sirens blasting by every couple hours in Dogpatch, Iowa. I don't know if we'll be able to stand the quietude and peacefulness of the farm...
..but we'll definitely give it our best shot.

So, stay tuned for a bunch of really fine farm entries right here on billandpatti.com.
How many of you have ever climbed to the top of a windmill? or petted a pig? or french kissed a mule? Not many of you I bet.
Well, maybe one of those things I listed we won't do. (I mean, I am scared of heights!)

The horsey pic below is from the farm, taken last week by my sister Janis (thanks sista).

Ps: We are still having trouble with the subscription service that you may have signed up for. (you should have gotten the entry above on tuesday.) I've contacted Bloglet so they can take a look at it.
Bill out for now
